The Udall Scholarship is awarded to undergraduates pursuing careers related to the environment, and to Native American and Alaska native students who intend to pursue careers in health care and tribal public policy. Eighty scholarships are awarded annually to sophomores or juniors from the two categories mentioned above; awards are for one year and pay up to $5,000 of expenses. Scholars selected during their sophomore year may be renominated for a second year. Junior nominees may not be renominated.
Qualifications: in addition to the qualifications mentioned above, candidates should be a sophomore or junior, have at least a B average, be a U. S. citizen or national. University nomination is required.
