Senior, Entering Graduate
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program annually grants 100 fully funded graduate scholarships at
Stanford for high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic
commitment, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders. Knight-Hennessy
Scholars may pursue an education in any of Stanford’s graduate programs, including master’s,
doctoral, and professional degrees in law, business, medicine, engineering, humanities and
sciences, education, and earth, energy and environmental sciences.
Signature of Program:
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program is intended to build a multidisciplinary community of
Stanford graduate students dedicated to finding creative solutions to the world’s greatest
Amount of Award:
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program funds up to three years of graduate education and provides a matching commitment from home departments in longer programs such as MD or PhDs. Knight-Hennessy Scholars receive stipends for room and board, books, travel to and from Stanford, and all reasonable personal expenses.
Citizens of all nations are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program to enroll in a full-time graduate degree program at Stanford (e.g., JD, MA, MBA, MD, MS, or PhD) or in one of Stanford’s many joint- and dual- graduate degree options (e.g., MD+PhD, JD+MA, MBA+MS).
Applicants must not have graduated with their Bachelor’s degree more than 4 years before the year they apply. There is no minimum requirement for applicants’ grades or scores.
Knight Hennessy does not require an institutional endorsement from the University.
